Entering the Gate
The statement “The teacher is the gatekeeper”, means that the teachers are the ones that has the key to unlock the human mind, and that key is knowledge. In order for you to enter the gate you need to be gain knowledge and understanding. The teacher have the key and the gate is the human mind, we are all born with a closed mind, meaning we are susceptible to accepting and believing anything that you are told while you are growing up. Parents are the child’s first teacher; parents are the one who thought us how to speak, walk, potty training and also how to groom ourselves; such as brushing our teeth, combing our hair. Behavior is also thought by our parents, because knowing how to act in the society that we are being brought up into is very important for us to know the acceptable and un-acceptable behaviors. After learning what all that we are able to learn from our parents the next stage which is school.
When we enter school our minds our introduced to a whole new learning experience, now we have to shift from learning how to behave to learning a whole new items. To begin we start by learning the alphabet once we’ve mastered the alphabet we are now ready to start to learn how to write the alphabets, next we learn numbers usually starts with the first ten numbers in the numeric system and as we proceed further in our scholastic learning we start to be thought more and more numbers, then we start to learn spelling, where we use the letters we just learned and put them together to form words, once we’ve learned the words we can then find the definition, knowing the meaning of these words we can now know how to properly use them.
Once our minds have been unlocked we now gain what is known as personalities, without having our minds unlocked us would never be able to develop into our own. We owe everything to the teachers because they have the power to shape their students and lead them into the right direction; teachers have a very big responsibility in developing and shaping their students minds. Teaching is a very tiring and thankless job, teachers did not get into the profession to be praised, and as long as they produce productive members of society they are happy.
